Matt Starr is an east coast native growing up between New York City & Connecticut. He began playing drums at the age of 12 when he joined & then promptly quit his school band after learning that the teacher spent most of the class working on the other instruments & saved drums for the last 5 minutes of class. Next came a couple months of private drum lessons, however...._мAll my teacher showed me was jazz beats & I wanted to play rock. Over the summer I taught myself how to play Motley Crue_м_s _м_Shout At The Devil_м album. That was the end of my lessons._м

Matt has toured the U.S. & overseas with Ace Frehley, Kevin Dubrow (Quiet Riot), Beautiful Creatures (JVC/Spitfire), Dizzy Reed (Guns N_м_ Roses), The Automatic Music Explosion, The Flames & others.

In the studio Matt has had the pleasure of working with producers Jimmy Bralower (VP A&R Atlantic Records, Madonna, Mick Jagger, Joan Jett), Toby Wright (Metallica, Alice In Chains, Korn), Jim Ebert (Meredith Brooks, Toni Braxton, Butch Walker), Mike Chapman (Blondie, The Knack, The Sweet), Dave Bianco (AC/DC, Tom Petty, KISS), Anthony Focx (Aerosmith, Foreigner) & others.

When Matt is not touring he lives in Los Angeles, keeping busy as a producer, singer & publisher. Matt_м_s music has been placed in dozens of TV shows & movies. He also enjoys buying & listening to vinyl LP's on his all- tube hi-fi system as well as collecting & restoring vintage Ludwig drums. Matt is currently touring and recording with founding KISS member & legendary guitarist Ace Frehley as well as member of Burning Rain featuring Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake).
