Biography & Career
Marion Felder(born August 24,1984) is a drummer from Detroit, Michigan, USA. He has been a member of the Wycliffe Gordon Quintet and The Count Basie Orchestra. Currently he is touring and recording with Michael Bublé.
Felder started playing drums in church at a young age. Most of his early training came from watching other musicians there.
A graduate of the world famous Cass Tech High School in Detroit. While still in high
school , Felder began to study with the late great jazz trumpeter Marcus Belgrave.
Belgrave encourage him to move to New York City.
Immediately after graduating high school, Felder moved to New York City to study at
The Juilliard School(BM ’06,MM ’08) on full scholarship. While at Juilliard, Felder
studied with Lewis Nash, Carl Allen, and Billy Drummond.
Felder has toured, recorded, and performed with various artist including The Gully Low Jazz Band, Victor Goines, Wynton Marsalis, Marcus Belgrave, Carmen Bradford, Delfeayo Marsalis, Ben Wolfe, Shayna Steele, Catherine Russell, Van Morrison, Paul Simon, Hank Jones and many others.
